The Logewhego Federation
YMCA Guides & Princess program is dedicated to building a
strong relationship between fathers and sons or daughters. The
program began many years ago as the Indian Guides for fathers and sons
then expanded to include daughters with the Indian Princess
program. The basis for the program initially was to create a bond
between the father and their children through activities that revolved
around a Native American (Indian) theme. Learn more about the
program by reading our Program
Resource Guide.
Over the years the B.R. Ryall YMCA has held true to this foundation and has continued to evolve the program as the decades have passed. Currently our program has continued to base itself along the original Native American theme. We encourage fathers to participate in both tribe small group functions such as meeting held on a rotational basis at members homes and in Nation or large group functions such as the seasonal campouts. Our members have benefited in many ways but most importantly by building a strong relationship between father and child through these events.
Our web site is one of the many tools that foster our program and its ability to serve the membership. Please explore the site and utilize it as a resource both for current as well as prospective members.
The site includes event listing and details found on the Calendars Page. The News DrumBeats Page has information from our monthly newsletter as well as notes from our monthly Long House Meetings. We have recently included a Tribe News Page that provides information on what tribes are doing and how the kids feel about the program. Be sure to take a look and contribute news about your tribes activities.
Further details for members is found on the Members Resources Page including information necessary to fully participate in our programs.
Be sure to view our Photo Gallery to see how much fun our members have had at past events!
Trailblazers is a fun addition to the program. This group is usually comprised of graduates of Guides & Princess programs and is geared for kids 5th grade and up. Joe Kozlowski and Craig Thuneman coordinate this group with many outstanding events planned.
